We really shouldn’t be surprised that there are foreshadowed, disturbing hints of elements of euthanasia and eugenics, even, being woven into Obama’s health care plan currently being crafted in Congress by the Democrats. After relentlessly and blindly championing abortion for decades by paying homage to a legal canard, the Democratic Party is today completely infected and permeated by the “culture of death” as the Vatican phrased it. Liberals have been totally desensitized to the horrors of abortion and have built up immunity to any pangs of consciousness in matters of life and death. Unlike any other issue, abortion defines the very soul of our culture. When our nation’s soul is darkened by an easy acceptance of wholesale abortion, dark and evil expressions of that acquiescence from within our collective consciousness will spill into the concrete social and political realms.

The Democratic Party is like a showcase home featured in Architectural Digest. At a glance, it looks attractive and comfortable and smartly appointed, offering many amenities. But lurking just behind the drywall is a deadly infestation of mold spores. No one seems to be aware of the danger which will eventually render this pleasant abode a place of death. The Democratic Party is a depository of idealism expressed by lofty, inspiring rhetoric, a treasure trove of platitudes; but it’s also a veritable junk yard of broken dreams, discredited ideas and lame policies that inevitably cause more misery than good. The Democrats are a humorless lot, miserable malcontents that are forever whining. This inability to experience joy is a subtle, relatively benign expression of their “anti-life” ethos,

Besides abortion and assisted suicide, there are other aspects of the “anti-life” philosophy endemic to the liberal mindset, aspects which are expressed through politics and social policy. Nothing delights a leftist more than emancipating one of their favorite victims, the criminal. Many of these miscreants return to society only to maim, rape and kill again. And the Democrats hate the idea of citizens protecting themselves from these predators with a gun. Liberals favor sexual license, inadvertently promote the AIDS malady and advocate the legalization of drugs, all of which can result in death. True, the Left hates war; but it always fails to grasp the big picture, failing or refusing to realize that war often ends up saving more lives than the ones it, regrettably, destroys. Thanks to the “enlightened” Rachel Carlson’s best-selling book, The Silent Spring, which led the crusade to ban DDT, literally millions of humans died, unnecessarily, of malaria. In fact, they’re still dying of this mosquito-born disease.

And, then, we must never forget Hitler’s “final solution”, Stalin’s pogroms and gulags, Mao’s “cultural revolution” and Pol Pot’s “killing fields”. Totalitarianism and genocide just seem to go together.

I’m not saying that the Democrats are that bad. But, like these tyrants and monsters, today’s leftists are informed by the same diseased and defective thinking. They are amoral ideologues and bleak existentialists that can never be content. They are humanists and materialists that do not believe in a transcendent Truth, only a “moral relativity” that’s ultimately meaningless. They only recognize the narrow “truth” defined by their radical imagination and Party propaganda. That’s why they’re impervious to reason, facts and evidence and why they must change language itself when it contradicts their vision. Opponents who question their orthodoxy must be reviled, mocked, silenced and, if necessary, eliminated—just more death. These “true believers” are de-constructionists, theorists, linguists, social engineers and tinkerers. They are the self-appointed priesthood that cannot mask its disdain for the common man. Most of all, they hate the Deity, maligning Him as a reactionary “patriarch”, a favorite pejorative from their lexicon. Despising the very Source of Life, it’s no wonder these leftists hate life and, most particularly, human life.

Just to be “fair”—liberals love that word—conservatives are not always perfect. Even they will sometimes exhibit “anti-life” impulses. The difference is, unlike liberals, they’re usually aware that such negative instincts are aberrations and an offense to God.
